The Government has given special importance to this sector for the creation of digital Bangladesh for implementation of the vision of the present Honorable Prime Minister of the People's Republic of Bangladesh; Accessing the benefits of information and communication technology to the grassroots level, provision of infrastructure security; Maintenance; Implementation; On 6 July, the 'Directorate of Information and Communication Technology' was formed to ensure the delivery of e-services in remote areas of the country through the expansion of quality control and the efficiency of computer professionals.

Functions:
1) To ensure and coordinate the use and application of ICT at all levels of government.
2) Provide support, maintenance and support to create appropriate ICT infrastructure in all departments up to the ground level.
3) To recruit, promote, replace and replace professional manpower in all levels of government offices.
4) Transfer of technical and specialized knowledge of information technology at all levels.
5) Formulation and implementation of policies to promote equality of government institutions and manpower.
